Applications: MOLCONE® D is used in tablets, capsules, oral suspensions, emulsions, creams, ointments, lotions and gels. It is a silicone-based polymer used in pharmaceutical formulations as an active ingredient and excipient. In oral formulations, it helps relieve gas, bloating and abdominal discomfort by reducing surface tension of gas bubbles. It acts as an antifoaming agent, skin protectant, emollient, lubricant and barrier-forming agent.

3 Solubility It is practically insoluble in water, very slightly soluble or practically insoluble in anhydrous ethanol, miscible with ethyl acetate, with methyl ethyl ketone and with toluene.
4 Acidity Not more than 0.15 mL of 0.01 M sodium hydroxide is required to change the colour of the solution to blue.
5 Viscosity Not less than 90 % to not more than 110 % of the nominal kinematic viscosity stated on the label, determined at 25 °C.
6 Mineral oils Specified test.
7 Phenylated compounds Absorbance of the solution is not greater than 0.2.
8 Volatile matter Not more than 0.3%.

PACKAGING

MOLCONE® D is packed in HDPE Drum or IBC Packing having bar-coded label.

SHELF LIFE, STORAGE AND PACKING

The shelf life is 3 years. Preserve in tight containers.
